My corne's USB port became unusable so I ended up replacing all the internals and swapping to wireless.

I went with the no solder headers which made installing the nice!nano and nice!view a breeze. Really mad props to whoever got that sorted out. The easiest kit I've ever built out.

While install was mostly a breeze, I am running into some shorting issues I believe are related to my reused metal case. There's an article on it and I'm sure it will resolve soon. Notably, when one side is plugged in works fine.

As for the Nice!View, I found the documentation around getting it running properly in ZMK insufficient. I had to really scour around and reflash several times to get the settings right.

At present, I have the connection, battery health, WPM, and layer displaying, but there are 5 layers presented by the layout as circles which do not update, and that is a bit annoying. Likely going to pursue some alternative display sources rather than the native nice!view zmk display.

For what does update, the display seems pretty responsive for things like word count and the printed "Layer N" on the lower left. The battery indicator is helpful.

Would be great if the nice!view native display included some context of which bluetooth profile I'm connected to.

In general, I felt the service and quality of documentation around the build was great. The ZMK docs side has been less satisfying, but such is life. Still very much enjoying tinkering with the nice!view, and am now a stan of the no solder headers

This little display makes the keyboard look stylish.
It also shows useful information about layers and battery status.
It was a pleasure to solder it.
