Get a better tip for your Pinecil V2! These tips offer a better soldering experience for most use cases versus the included "B2" pointed tip.

These tips are shorter in length than TS100 standard tips offering better handling and precision. They also have a 6.2-6.5 Ohm resistance, which allows for higher wattage to be used with the Pinecil V2 that auto-detects the tip type.  While they aren't official Pine64 tips, we find them to be visually and functionally the same.

Types

  • BC2: This bevel-tipped iron is a great all-around tip with a good balance between size and thermal mass for small electronic work.
  • D24: This chisel-tipped iron is great to wedge into corners and easy to handle, but it's a bit large for small electronics work.
  • KU: This knife-tipped iron is angled and a small size. If you can get used to the angle, this is a highly versatile tip with a small size and decent thermal mass.
  • K:  This knife-tipped iron is angled and a larger size. It's ideal for drag soldering and when a large thermal mass is required.

These tips are not to be used with the Pinecil V1 stock firmware, which can't detect the resistance itself.

The only place to find (single) Pinecil short tips

I got the short BC2 to replace the useless B2 on the Pinecil v2. It's great, no problems, and the price was right. If they sold the short C4, I'd buy it immediately!

Good find that fills a void

Pinecil isn't my primary soldering tool so this selection is nice for not having to invest in two Pine64 kits for the two tips I'll use most. Tips perform well with Kester 44, they're priced right and Typeractive's service was friendly and fast.
